....and beat it over the head with an out-of-tune violin, that would give you an idea of the calibre of singers at the karoke the girl and I accidentally stumbled upon tonight. Let's just say a guy was half-way through "Purple Rain" and I didn't recognize it. And he'd sung the chorus twice. It was seriously bad people. Bt we were waiting for our food so we had no choice but to stick it out. Now I have about a dozen songs I have to listen to the original version of before I can sleep peacefully. I mean, for real, no one should do that to poor Patsy Cline. Did she not have enough hardship in her life what with Ed Harris beating her up* and then the plane crash????? The waitress was funny though, she just walked around grimacing and saying fuck a lot. It was great.
We went to the museum today! It was fun. Did you know that scientists aren't really sure how closely realted to bears Pandas are? And that there is a bug called a walking stick that looks, literally, like a walking stick? And that I hate many many small screaming children? But there was this one girl, about three years old, who was poking around an exhibit and then let loose with an unholy yell, and ran for her momma screaming "SNAKE! MOMMY THERE'S A SNAKE!!!!!" it was pretty funny. Also, some dork kept walking around the bird exhibit asking where the dodo bird was, and then was all "haha, get it? Cuz it's extinct". Loser.
Will be going shopping tomorrow, er, today with the lovely Cj Marlowe for some shoes for her. And an umbrella for me. Woo, big day in Toronto for us, that's for sure!!!!!
I realized today that I have a sick obsession an interest in celebrity magazines. I should probably be stopped. But reading about Tara Reid and her nipple exposing, show cancelling, drunken stupor ways really helps me put my life in perspective. So viva la Life & Style!!!!!!
*Yes, I know that Patsy Cline wasn't married to Ed Harris, but he did such a great portrayal in Sweet Dreams. |
